Teaching Philosophy
The philosophy that I employ in all my classes is a constructivist approach to learning. I believe learners absorb more of the information presented if they are using hands on project-based learning. In order for the learner to have mastery over a software application concept, I use self-guided tutorials so students can gain a base understanding of the application then use projects to master that concept.
Having students learn software applications is just one small part of my classes. Design skills and art concepts are also presented to the class and these concepts are woven into each project so that students are learning much more than software programs.
What I bring to the classroom is years of practical work experience within the graphics field. This experience along with my teaching style translates into a classroom environment that promotes a higher level of learning.
